Endress+Hauser recently launched the Gammapilot M FMG60, a compact transmitter suitable for all measuring tasks in a radiometric line. Radiometric instrumentation is employed in all measuring applications in which other methods are not suitable due to extreme or critical conditions. This includes toxicity, abrasion, high temperatures and high pressures in industries such as chemical and petrochemical, mining pulp and paper and power generation.
The new model, an addition to the existing Gammapilot range, is the result of ongoing development and offers all of the advantages of the tried and tested measurement method combined with the latest technology.
Gammapilot M FMG60 was developed in accordance with the international standard for functional safety, IEC61508, and has SIL2 (Safety Integrity Level) approval for overspill protections. This makes the device ideal for use in all processes related to safety. It also offers automatic monitoring from the sensor to the power output and issues a warning when components have to be exchanged. The well designed safety concept of Gammapilot M guarantees uninterrupted operation and thus a high degree of plant availability.
Gammapilot M has the standardised communication protocols of HART®, PROFIBUS PA and Foundation Fieldbus at its disposal. Actual operation and commissioning is effected via the tried and tested ToF-Tool operating software or via the separate FHX40 operating unit. All measuring tasks are configured via this software.
