Process instrumentation specialist Endress+Hauser has announced the launch of the Deltapilot S FMB70. The hydrostatic pressure sensor integrates the proven climate-proof Contite cell into the modular instrument platform of Cerabar S and Deltabar S with interchangeable housing, electronics and displays.

Half of all level measurements in present-day process instrumentation are taken by hydrostatic pressure devices. The hydrostatic Deltapilot S sensor has been one of the most successful instruments in the company's product range, offering excellent performance in sophisticated applications such as foaming media, pastes and aggressive liquids.

The new addition to the range was developed in accordance with SIL 2 and features two-chamber housing and extensive diagnosis functionality as well as the HistoROM/ M-DAT process data memory. The Deltapilot S offers users the highest degree of safety and operating convenience.

The Deltapilot S FMB70 is ideal for application in hygiene sensitive applications such as food and beverage production or the pharmaceutical industry. The tried and tested Contite digital measuring cell is hermetically sealed and thus guarantees optimum compensation and long-term stability in damp environments and ambiences in which condensate is present.

The sensor is unaffected by temperature shocks in SIP/CIP cleaning cycles and works without any drift or measuring error. This makes it the most reliable measuring cell for pressure instruments in the hygiene area. The two-chamber housing provides the highest degree of process safety. High-quality FDA-conforming materials, as well as the functional design, have been developed for fast cleaning processes and also resist corrosive media.

All of the instrument information is applied on the FMB70 housing by laser. The data is thus always visible and the housing may be easily cleaned. As is the case for other instrument variants of the S-class, Endress+Hauser also employs the Quick-Setup menu in Deltapilot S operation. The functionality has been enhanced via three keys and the large display permits safe navigation for all settings.
