The Soliphant M range offers a quantum leap forward in limit switch technology

Process automation specialists, Endress+Hauser have radically enhanced their limit switch range with the launch of Soliphant M Second Step. This quantum leap forward in limit switch technology offers a vast improvement in quality and opens up new areas of application, particularly in the high-temperature range.
It took three years of development to realize the new Soliphant Generation and technologies from space travel, novel materials and Endress+Hauser's many years of expertise were combined in the project. The result is a product that allows reliable limit detection at temperatures of up to 280 °C.
The sensor core, i.e. piezo drive, was redeveloped using new temperature resistant materials to ensure that it would function flawlessly under the tremendous strain of such intense environments. This makes Soliphant M perfectly suited to application in exhaust gas combustion and purification.
Soliphant M offers a range of other new features. To prevent build up on the sensor and reduce inaccuracies, a new, multistage procedure was developed to create an abrasion-resistant coating. Also, a polished sensor was developed which prevents solid particles from adhering to its surface. The sensor is easy to clean, which makes it very well suited to food applications.
Soliphant is already the most used instrument in level limit detection in bulk solids, with over one million measuring points worldwide. Endress+Hauser is confident that this advancement will enable them to equip numerous new applications with the new Soliphant models.
